While searching for hot listings we stumbled on this Nike tee that fetched $600+!:

Our pals at Hermosa posed the real or repro question prior to the item ending, last week. The side by side comparison is compliments of them!

The tag does look suspect, as does the print when shown up-close.

Coincidentally I just purchased a t-shirt from the seller as a gift for my wife - they even accepted a far lower offer than what it was listed at. I didn't put it together that it was the same seller until just now.

Not at all worried about that one being real. But if the Nike tee is fake, it's another example of how mostly honest merch is a great tactic for convincing bidders that everything in the store is legit.

Tiny Pony, Rainbowgasoline and our catch me if you can pal from Texas all benefited from this strategy.

Very interesting. On one hand, it's infuriating, but on the other, I just wonder if that seller was duped too. They appear to have tons of legit stuff, including your S&G tee.

That tag up close looks similar to some Nike jacket tags I've seen. I think I had a collared Nike shirt once that had that tag, I'll see if I can dig up a picture of it.

It would be interesting to see the tee in person and get a feel for it. The graphic sure does look good though.

I tend to think that it's real.

Re: other sellers - I've bought one from the texas friend that was legit and two from rainbow, one legit, one not.

I'm by no means a Nike expert but it looks pretty good to me, too. The graphic looks solid, and the tag is properly stitched in under the seam like it should be. Not to say that all of that *couldn't* be faked.

Printing on the tag itself is the only thing that would raise an eyebrow. Seems like there's an unusually large gap at the bottom between the "made in USA" and the tag edge. Also a slightly different font for both the "MEN'S" and the size lettering (the M is much thicker than the L).

Tough call. If it's a fake it's a mighty good one. I would only assume that a collector willing to drop $600 on this would also know enough to look closely and make an informed decision. Hopefully it was the right one

*edit* now that I'm looking at it next to the Large size tag I just posted, it's looking more and more suspect..

Hermosa points out on the Facebook post that the size L (41-43) is odd and another sign of it being fake, but I've most definitely come across legit blue tag Nike tees with that sizing option.
