Fact: Sid & Nancy mostly received glowing reviews but even those who didn’t approve paid respect to the performances by the lead actors. It currently holds a Rotten Tomatoes score of 90%. Johnny Rotten on the other hand completely trashed the film calling it “a sham” and that the film is “the lowest form of life.” He criticized director Alex Cox for referencing with Joe Strummer over him, “That guttural singer from The Clash? What the fuck did he know about Sid and Nancy? That’s probably all he could find, which was really scraping the bottom of the barrel.”
