Twenty years ago, vintage t-shirt pioneers Vintage Vantage released this shirt as part of their Originals line, which Urban Outfitters picked up and sold from their shops. VV, known for their tongue-in-cheek, humorous tee slogans, caused considerable controversy with this one—even hip-hop mogul Russell Simmons, aka @unclerush was outraged! Annnnnd, as a result, a ton more of these t-shirts were sold. I recently joked about this with @skippyhahavintage, who was part of VV during that era. A few weeks ago, we posted about the passing of our pal Mark and then rediscovered a box he sent with some rare photographs of Prince.📷 But we need your help to find the photographer. The keychains in the box - are personalized with St. Louis, Missouri, so there's a good chance these were being sold outside of St. Louis Arena, and both were seized at the same time. Mark typically kept all his stuff in batches. The most likely scenario of how these photos came to be is that the photog attended the first show on Thursday, December 20th, then shelled out for a one-hour and hit the parking lot for the second show. There’s a decent chance these photos were taken by someone who lived in St. Louis MO in 1984.
