The Smiths Meat is Murder 1985 Tour Shirt
Unlike the many various versions that have been made now,
this one originally purchased in 1985 has the band name in olive (not green, dark green, or light green) and, noticeably is stretched the length of album image (unlike other reproductions that have name off-centered or have the band name across top or print the wrong direction or 4 LP images). Original silkscreen was only green & black (no grey).Might have been manufactured in the UK since we sold a lot of imports at the store I worked.
Led Zeppelin 1979 Knebworth Park
Led Zeppelin t-shirt bought at legendary Knebworth Park concert UK in 1979. T shirt has been stored for much of it’s near 40 year life. It has the classic American tour 1977 print on the front and then the 1979 US design on the back. Very rare item.
Straight To Hell | The Clash c. 1983 Original
The Clash
Straight to Hell
Authentic Original Shirt c. 1983 -1985
“© Clash Printed under License by Loud Products”
Made from Original Silkscreen not an iron-on
Has a tear (original fabric intact if you wanna repair it) and slight discolorization on back, but it is fashionably distressed and purely authentic. Tag missing, but probably import from London as we sold similar at store I worked at.
Einsteurzende Neubauten
Purchased at Wax Trax Records in Denver sometime around 1989/90. The fabric has become very thin.
Circle Jerks ’85-’86 Wonderful Tour
Purchased at the Aztlan Theater in Denver in ’86(?). The left shoulder is ripped out and held together with a safety pin. How punk. The whole shirt is there, and the image is still strong.
Black Flag “In My Head” Tour 1986
Purchased at the Rainbow Music Hall in Denver, 1986. Henry specifically told us not to stage dive. Some people called this show “Spinal Flag”.The pit is ripped out a bit. Quite literally a pit rip.
Warlock Pinchers “Jerry Garcia/James Dean” 1987
Denver’s own pranksters. Morrissey, George Peppard and Andreas Vollenweider were also targets. Originally had sleeves. I shall never part with this.
Flaming Lips “The Bigger Yer Head, The Smarter You Are”
Purchased at any number of shows I attended in the early 90s. Tore off the sleeves. I went through a period when I hated sleeves.
Sonic Youth “Sonic Life” 1986
Purchased at the German House in Denver, 1986. Thurston Moore drew the image on the back at my request. Actually I asked him to put anything on there. He said, “Like what?” I said, “Something ‘hip.'”. He suggested, “Read SPIN.” This is better. I tore the sleeves off once again.
Black Flag “My War” Tour 1984
Purchased at Rainbow Music Hall in Denver, 1984. The infamous Nig-Heist fiasco. Look it up on the Internet. Funny stuff.
D.O.A. “To Hell and Back”
From a show at the Ladies Choice Showcase Lounge (a black disco) in Denver, 1986. I got my butt kicked by skinheads at this show. I tore the sleeves off. At least I think I did, it my have been one of those skinheads.
