Keith Black Racing Engines 1980’s
There was a time when you couldn’t count the number of these shirts you saw at a racetrack! Where did they all go?
Another well-worn classic, bought directly from Mr. Black while a friend was purchasing parts for his Top Alcohol flopper in Jan 1986.
BB/FC cars were never cheap to run, even back then; I’m pretty sure this t just got ” thrown in” with the invoice! Cripes, I shoulda grabbed a dozen of ’em…
Vintage Saddam Hussein shirt
Made in USA
Tag – Anvil
Condition – 7/10. Some wear. No stains, tears or holes.
I’d fly 10,000 miles to smoke. Camel. Really depicts tre American “can do†attitude. Very awesome front graphic with Saddam riding a camel(what else would he be riding, this is the 90s here), no back graphic. From 1990, around when desert storm and the Iran contra was happening.
Jack Green
Here’s a scarce one…Jack Green was a pretty decent guitar player & good songwriter who played with a veritable “who’s who” of British blues rockers during the seventies, & went solo in 1980.
Did a couple of great records (which I got signed at an in-store appearance the day after the concert) but I don’t recall any tour t shirts for sale at the show?
I found this at a head shop in late 1981…don’t remember the price.
Vintage Saddam Hussein Shirt
I’d fly 10,000 miles to smoke a camel. I just really like this shirt because it really depicts America’s “gut em†attitude.
Vintage 1996 Tampa Bay Lightning First Playoff Berth T-shirt
Having been a season ticket holder since their inception in 1992, this was a special moment for me. I sat down and cried when Alex Selivanov scored that overtime goal in Game 3. Any tees I had that represented this event were thrown out by my Mom years ago, including several of my prized concert t-shirts (ack!!).
This is the first 1996 TBL playoffs shirt I have found since I started selling vintage clothing. It ain’t going nowhere. Go Bolts!!

Jim & Dianne Dunne’s FIREMAN’S QUICKIE
Here’s another classic, that rumour had it actually got BANNED at a few dragstrips.
Jim was a career firefighter (if memory serves) & his hobby was running a real competitive AA/FC. One of the first race car shirts I saw that had great artwork, layout & slogan. Cool colour, too.
Picked this up at Pomona in October 1985, back when you could buy ’em directly from the racer! Don’t remember the cost.
