BVD 70s?

Post by maxvintage »

I've got a pretty sweet Grateful Dead shirt that I'm really trying to date. It's a BVD and based on my research, I'm guessing that it's before 1976, but wanted to see if anyone else has seen this tag? I'm hoping it's an original Skull and Roses shirt from '71/'72. It's super similar to this one of Wyco's http://tinyurl.com/3n39vr3. Any thoughts?

I think so my friend - the BVD brand has been since the late 1800s.

Good to hear, that's just super exciting! Thanks a bunch for answering all my "rookie" questions Jimmy, I really appreciate it. Hopefully one day I'll have a little knowledge that I can share with the community.

Cheers,

Max

Sorta related question.
In what year were garment manufactures required to list the fabric content in percentages? I know at some point it switched from "all cotton" to "100% cotton" etc...
I read it somewhere a while back and haven't been able to find it again.
