I was researching a couple of gas station shirts that I have and thought that I'd share a the labels/ history with you guys.
Unitog was a supplier of military coveralls during WWII, it got it's first civilian contracts in the 50s thanks to the auto and oil industry and grew more in the 60s with postal, soft beverage and other contracts. (With a resume like that, it's a wonder that they're not still popular). http://www.fundinguniverse.com/company- ... story.html
The shirts are from the FINA gas stations that sprung up around the country in the 60s. These specific ones likely date to the 70s.
