Certainly possible...never really kept track of the Fantasy tag's timeline but the tag design is more basic. What's the print?

Another user recently shared one he said was from 1979:

Thanks Jimmy, I purchased this from a gentleman who said he bought it at a Black Sabbath concert in Cincinnati Oh in 1978. The second leg of the U.S Never Say Die! Tour they played Cincinnati Riverfront Colosseum. The gentleman had 7 shirts all from the 70s and early 80s all are vintage I paid $5 a piece for them. It was a private sale in response to an ad I placed the gentleman was not a dealer just clearing his clutter I bought them along with several 8-track tapes.

That's awesome if you want to double your money let me know! Heres the RN details - you would have to then use this info to do a business lookup to see when it was registered. But I wouldn't worry about it - Id take his story as the truth. Its legit vintage. The unfortunate thing is that Fantasy is not known for its quality. Although yours doesnt look to be mishapen - maybe the earliest Fantasy tees used better quality cotton.

What was in your ad? where did you run it?

Jimmy, thanks man I run ads in Cincinnati area craigslist and Facebook "paying cash for 70s 80s 90s concert shirts" I resell and had good successes selling my own Metallica and Slayer shirts from the late 80s so I'm always looking for bargains. I will be trying to do a little better than doubling my money on this one...lol. Thanks for the RN info I am now convince that it is vintage still curious if it could've been a "parking lot" shirt though. Still trying to come up with a price point on this one. In the same deal I also acquired a two sided Blue Oyster Cult shirt from the gentleman that appears to have a red Fantasy tag which is quite faded here is the RN info on that one. I can send pics if your curious.

The Fantasy tag was a tag of choice for parking lot boots, but this doesn't strike me as one - too true to the original print. Bootlegs then were usually crappy quasi copies or a design of their own.

I saw the BOC tag in your other post - strange is has the Alstyle RN - company is still around today - I always thought it was a 2000+ era company. But looking the company up, says it has been around since 1976.

The RN on the Sabbath fantasy tag is on the back?

I'm thinking maybe they aren't the same Fantasy tag - different companies. "Fantasy Ts" may be something else. And that would make sense given that tee looks to be better quality - you can see the BOC tee is a lot more mishapen.

Jimmy, yes the Black Sabbath RN is on the back of tag made in El Salvador. I thought the BOC seemed bootleggish... is there value in bootlegged or lot shirts?

Absolutely value. And not 100% sure its a bootleg either. If it is they did a terrific job in keeping with BOCs style. The only thing that may impact the value is the tee its printed on.

With Sabbath its all about patience. Like I did some people may confuse it with the Fantasy brand so that may take some buyers out of the mix - but those prices you are quotng are items still for sale. Maybe somewhere in between with offers...see what rolls in.

One thing to note is the lack of a Mouse Kelly sig/copyright at the bottom peak. I havent compared the actual print side by side with the ones on eBay. If it is a boot its a great job for that era. And also raises the age old question...if a shirt doesnt have the copyright line - is it a boot? Opinions vary on that and some buyers stick with the copyrighted versions.

Can you email the seller and ask if he remembers where at these events he actually made the purchase?

Does the back say Made in Pakistan?

Jimmy, The BOC is made in Pakistan, the Sabbath in El Salvador, yes the "kelly" is missing on the Sabbath. The prices I quoted are sold sales I use Worthpoint the highest sales amount was in 2010 the sold amounts did drop in recent years to the $200 range. The seller could not remember if the shirts were purchased inside or out of the venues. He did say he went to the shows in Cincinnati, I confirmed Sabbath played Riverfront Coliseum in November 78 the 2nd leg of the US tour and he also commented on the quality of LSD at the time which may explain some of the memory loss...ha ha. I have set the price point in the high middle of the current offerings and am taking offers so if it doesn't get interest I will start lowering. Thanks for all the help on this you have given me some great insight and advice.
Shawn
