Someone's Bootlegging My Shirts

Post by maxvintage »

So, I sold this tee awhile back:

http://cgi.ebay.com/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?Vi ... SA:US:1123

Now the picture have been copied and are being used here on a bootleg:

You can clearly see the dude is using the exact same pictures. It's kind of a bummer and I'm not too happy about it. I'm sure it's happened to a few of you before, any advice?

Log in to ebay.

Go to seller's listing and on the same line with the "Description" and "Shipping and Payment Tabs", all the way to the right, is a link to "Report Item". Click on that.

When you get to the reporting page, under Report Gategory select "Copyright and trademark".

Under Reason for Report, select "Images or text copied from your listing".

Under Detailed Reason, select copied pictures or text.

You can take it from there ;)

(Please note: Legit checks I do in this forum should not be considered 100% conclusive; I'm simply giving a gut reaction based on the limited information provided.)

I'm not surprised. eBay's enforcement of policy is arbitrary, at best.

Me personally, I'm inclined to send out cease & desist letters, but I wouldn't recommend that course of action unless you know what you're doing and have the steel for it. I don't bluff.

The only way to shut some of these people down is when people file a bunch of paypal claims. Or worse, credit card chargebacks.

I reported it and sent the seller a message.

The only chance I have of them doing something is the fact that the bootlegger is using my pictures and that falls under copyright infringement.
