Appraisal requested: New York Dolls Shirt

Post by Newyorkdolly »

Hello! I’ve had this shirt since the 90s and it was vintage then so I’m thinking it’s from the 70s. I can’t find the exact one to compare anywhere. Would you please give me an idea of value? I wish it still fit!

18 inches pit to pit and 22.5 inches top to bottom.

Is eBay still the best place to sell this?

Thanks in advance!

Very cool.

This image is from a flyer (below) for their san fran debut in 1973.

I think 80s is a safer bet.

Can you make out the size on the tag? The only reason I ask is that the length measurement is quote small compared to the pit-to-pit.

AHhh ok. I thought it might be an Adult Large that had been hemmed.

So the sizing will be the biggest drawback, as very few would be able to wear it. NYD tees seem to top out at about $250-300, but given it's size, would say maybe you'd get $100-ish? I could be wrong, I can't find any others like it so there could always be a collector out there looking for it.

I'd price it at $300 on eBay with offers and see what rolls in.
