That shirt is from 2003.
It's a page out of Kurt Cobain's journal.
Part of his journals were released as a book in 2003.

Nothing special or rare. Few bucks.

Other than a good wipe down, I usually leave them as-is. As you experienced, most solvents will just damage the sneaker and make things worse. The way Harley was written on it reminded me of a vintage t-shirt I saw once, but of course now that I'm looking, I couldn't find anything that looked like.

I was curious if this style has a particular name.
I searched under "harley" and "eagle", and got everything else under the sun.

Oddly enough, I found the same exact jacket today at the thrift store. Just like yours, it had no markings what so ever.

Never hear of "1440". I've similar fonts on shirts from the early 80s. Quick glance at ebay, someone attempted to sell a 1440 shirt, didn't sell for 99 cents.
