Re: Year of this Southern Athletic tag on Hendrix Shirt?

The shirt itself is definitely old, however it's a relatively common iron-on/heat transfer graphic. Therefore it's really hard to say when the graphic was applied to the shirt. There was a dubious etsy seller who had loads and loads of these types of shirts for sale and might still be selling them ...

This is a modern repro. The originals were printed on white raglans with black sleeves.

Re: Vintage Woodstock t-shirt appraisal

This is one of the Woodstock Movie promotional shirts. Based on the condition, I'd value it at anywhere from $100-200.

I believed this to be real and agreed to buy it...but now don't believe that it is. The print size isn't quite right when compared to the original.

Mylar is good and archival, but you want the cotton to breath. Check out how big institutions and museums store antique clothing. It's all in archival boxes with archival paper wrapping the garments.

Re: Vintage T-shirt Storage and Maintenance

I read something awhile back that said air is important for vintage and antique clothing, airflow prevents dry rot. You want to avoid zipping them in plastic bags or sticking them in airtight containers.

Re: ‘75 Rolling Stones shirt. HAS ANYONE EVER SEEN THIS?

It's a parking lot bootleg from '75. A lot of the bootleggers back then were just using artwork from various sources..so here they used the cover of It's Only Rock n' Roll.

Yeah, Mick Taylor was gone by the '75 tour.

Re: (Rare?) The Rolling Stones 1960's (?) Value

It's a vintage iron-on that came with a Rolling Stones fan club kit in '64 I believe. The shirt looks like mid to late 70s though, so I'd guess someone found that old iron-on and put it on a shirt sometime in the 70s.

In regards to Concerts West claim, yes they were the promoters for the tour. Showco was a sound company, not a concert promoter - big difference there.

Re: Showco Zeppelin?

Hi Happy- That's a pretty hefty charge to throw down. I have zero doubts on Wyco's shirt. It is absolutely legitimate. Before moving too far ahead, I've got to first ask you how many former Showco roadies you've chatted with about their old shirts? Also, how many of the shirts have you seen in ...

Probably just made by a local printer and printed up for a record store or something along those lines. Nothing official.

Re: Stones/Keith Richards - "Rip This Joint"

I'd say this is a mid to late 80s shirt. No idea where from, Rip this Joint is a Stones song from Exile. You could probably get $50 for this if you're patient.

Re: weird/creepy Mick Jagger/Stones tee - Screen Stars

Very cool tee. This is the alternative artwork for the album It's Only Rock n Roll. I've got a shirt with a similar graphic from '74. This graphic is pretty sought after by Stones collectors, so that might increase the value a bit. Jimmy is right that it's from the early 80s, so my guess is that it ...

Re: 1973 stones European tour

The '73 looks to be the authentic one from the tour - those go for 150 or so at auction on ebay. If you were patient you might be able to get a bit more although some will be turned off that it's yellow. The Keef tee is probably 80s and is a bootleg for sure. Would have to see the tag on it to know ...

Re: Ebay Bootlegger - b-sidesvintage

I reported a bunch of his shirts today. I strongly urge others to do the same. Some of the newer vintage shirts he is selling are real, but the older ones are clear fakes - but very well done.

We've got to get this guy off ebay. The more of these that circulate the worse off we all are.

Ebay Bootlegger - b-sidesvintage

There is a pretty decent bootlegger who has shown up on ebay in recent days. In the past year I've seen these same graphics recycled on several vintage blanks of all shapes and sizes. Some are real graphics that were used in the 70s/80s - which makes this a little scarier than usual. If you look ...

Dying Shirts

Yo! Anyone ever had luck dying shirts? I've got a somewhat faded black t-shirt that I would like to "pop" a bit more. I read this on here http://oldschoolmetalshirts.com/dyeing.htm awhile back and think it looks pretty intriguing. Thoughts?

Re: Dr. J. Jones and The Interns T Shirt (Aerosmith Pseudonym)

I think this shirt is quite valuable and I would probably list it at around $500 or best offer. I have a similar shirt that is for the Rolling Stones - they used to bill as "The Cockroaches" for secret shows back in the mid to late 70s. The problem with these shirts is that they are almost too rare ...

Ah yeah, I have that one. It's actually an orange shirt, I'm wondering if yours has maybe faded over time? I paid a few hundred for mine and would say the value is anywhere from $250-400 & up. Condition and finding the right buyer are key.

Nice find!

A few nights ago a shirt I was watching mysteriously disappeared from ebay. I wrote the seller and asked about what happened. Here's the response: OK... Here goes.
