Re: Is ebay the best site to get the most $ for a rare tee?

Yeah I agree. The only reason to sell something at auction nowadays is when you KNOW you'll get a bidding war. Never hope you will. I've sold some incredibly rare stuff over the years at auction. If it's a smaller target market then your items might sell for much less than they're worth. If you know ...

Re: Grateful Dead Avalon 1966 - assume repro

For this shirt in particular it won't make any difference. The copyright is not the same as when it was made but most people would be able to date yours and the other one for sale on Etsy to the same time period by looking at the tag. Don't think people really care what wording is on the print as ...

It doesn't make any difference.
Just means they were probably printed at different places that used different brand blanks.

Someone else has the exact same shirt for sale on Etsy for just under $50USD.
It's likely worth about that.

Re: Grateful Dead Avalon 1966 - assume repro

Really depends on the clientele and location. I've been selling at vintage shops for years. Some things you can sell for much more than you would selling online. Other things you might only be able to get half the price you would online. You need to work out what YOUR customers would be happy to pay.

Re: What year is this label from

A bunch of the band t-shirts I bought back in the early 2000's had this exact same tag.
FOTL definitely did double tags (with HEAVY cotton) from the mid 90's but the lettering and logo were a bit different I think.

Looks real to me but is it a heat transfer?
Roach produced most of the cool looking t-shirt transfers, right?

They are selling well in the physical shop. Especially in summer (it's winter here now). Hardly sold any online though.

Re: Metallica - Kill 'Em All

I'd be jumping on that €350 in a heartbeat. I sold something a few months ago that had no comparable sales prices. Had it listed at auction and someone offered me $250+AUD for it (outside of eBay), which I thought was a more than fair offer. I just refused to sell it to him as the auction had a ...

Re: Greetings from Australia

The Australian eBay market for vintage band t-shirts is VERY strong at the moment. I pretty much never see anything sell for peanuts unless it's very poorly advertised or just not desirable. I think one problem is that a lot of people are expecting too much money for things. There are t-shirts that ...

Re: Deadstock 80's Rip Curl

Fun follow up to this... Through selling some of this online, I made a contact who works at Rip Curl Head Office. We set up a meeting and I took a bunch of this stuff with me. Ended up selling them roughly $2000 worth of stock. I've still got HEAPS left but this deal got rid of 60 or so items in one ...

Re: Strange Adidas with paches

The easiest way to tell on this one is that it has 2 spelling mistakes on the tag. Pretty sure I can read "THE BRAND WITN THE a STRIPES". Plus the logo on the tag is the wrong shape and the font is slightly off too. With this sort of clothing (vintage streetwear) men's is usually worth more because ...

Re: Strange Adidas with paches

It's a bootleg from the 80's or 90's.
Can't imagine it's worth much at all, especially as it's a women's shirt.

Re: Anyone need help with Australian brands???

Yeah I've seen many. It's genuine merchandise from an Australian stage show or musical. Unfortunately they can be really hard to date depending on the show. They used almost the exact same tag for a LONG time. They might still use it now actually. Definitely dates to post-1995 as we added a 9 to the ...

Re: Foolproof method of removing ink?

Thanks! It's definitely working gradually. Using rubbing alcohol seems to work a bit but I've been having the most success applying laundry detergent directly on it and scrubbing with a toothbrush. Think I'll just wear this one for a while and keep treating the stains after ever wear. I see what you ...

Foolproof method of removing ink?

I've read about a million different ways of removing ink from white shirts.

Just got a bunch of 90's band shirts and this Nirvana one unfortunately has some black stains.

Wondering if anyone has a way to remove ink that has always worked for them?

Would I be best off just to use peroxide?

Re: Rammstein Sehnsucht unknown tag

I think it may be one of those Thai bootleg labels.
I see lots of Thai bootlegs here in Australia because lots of us travel to Thailand.
It's probably not as old as it looks either as they reproduce old images.

I could be completely wrong though...

Thanks for the advice! I wasn't exactly looking for these but when given the opportunity to buy I couldn't really say no. Rip Curl are from my home state so it makes sense that there'd be lots still around here. The main issue is working out how to sell them all and maximize profit. For example ...

Deadstock 80's Rip Curl

So I recently scored a massive amount of deadstock Rip Curl T-Shirts, Tanks, & Singlets from around the late 70s-mid 80's. There's heaps like the ones in the photos and probably another 50 other designs. Just wondering if anyone has experience dealing with multiple of the same deadstock shirts ...

Mystery XMAN 1991-1992 T-Shirt

A while ago I bought this from a guy who worked security for lots of hard rock bands in the late 80's-mid 90's. I got a bunch of deadstock shirts. Every other T-Shirt I bought from him were well known bands (Iron Maiden, KISS, Guns n Roses etc.) and one other one had a picture of a made up band ...

National Lampoon's Vacation Walley World T-Shirts

I bought these 2 together a while back from the same guy. I've seen a few of the one with just the moose sell. The other I can't work out at all. The guy I bought it off said it could only be purchased by sending away to the National Lampoon Fan Club which he was part of. They're both deadstock but ...

Re: Led Zeppelin 1984 Winterland -

Looks like lots of Zeppelin stuff has 1984 copyrights.
I recently bought 2 Zeppelin t-shirts. One from the late 80's and the other from the early 90's. Both have 1984 Myth Gem copyright.
Guess they weren't producing new images so kept using the old copyright date.

Ramones 1989 Rocket To Russia T-Shirt

I've always found it pretty easy to price T-Shirts for the Australian market but since launching my eBay store about a month ago I've noticed certain prints that are unique to Australia seem to fetch more than their overseas counterparts. I picked up this Ramones shirt yesterday. Got an idea what I ...

Anyone need help with Australian brands???

I've sold 1000 or so Australian vintage T-Shirts over the last few years and have seen many brand and tags. Not sure how much Australian stuff makes it overseas but if anyone needs a bit of info on any Australian T-Shirts I may be able to help.
