Cross Branded MASH/Vans T-Shirt

Post by CRAZYBUBBA »

Since when did Vans start cross branding TV t-shirts?

Since 1981 apparently.

It seems out of character for a skateboarding company.

Fixed that for you ;)

Do you have any idea why there would be a cross promotion between Vans and a TV show? It's a little strange. According to Wikipedia, Vans was a skateboarding wear company from the start.

Actually, apparently MASH ended in 1977. *scratches head*.

Originally a M.A.S.H. t-shirt from Twentieth Century Fox (have the exact one in my collection) but this one found it's way into a screen printing shop somewhere and was used as a test shirt for fun when they were setting up the press for the Van's print. Also the white ink looks slightly different from the Vans print to the MASH print which indicates they were printed at different times. I worked as a t-shirt screen printer for many years and always goofed around printing one of a kind tees when setting up the press.

That's my best guess.

That would explain alot. I hadn't even noticed the difference in prints until now. Thanks :)
