Collegiate Pacific Labels

Post by Fatandyz »

Got a couple of different Collegiate Pacific Labels. Can anyone help identify if they are from the 70's or 80's? The first is from an NC State Tee, the 2nd is from a YMCA Camp shorts. I was thinking the tee might be 70's and the shorts 80's?

i guess both of them are from 80's. first one is not exactly same as 80's CP's tag i know, it slightly different. i have one pacific collegiate tee from 70's. it has completely different tag from 80's. and still it could be 70's, there are tons of secret of vintage tee.

I'd place a value in the print. Mostly because the new mascots for most of these teams are really boring. Ex: Compare the new herbie husker to the the old one or the current lobos mascot to yours, there's a world of a difference.

The tag is a good way to verify that it's really vintage but I'm not sure that it'd be worth a premium. When I look to purchase a shirts, it's the the print/material (and of course size) that determines my bid price.

I can't help you date it, mostly because so few of these collegiate pacific tees come with copyrights on the print. I'd be interested to hear what the pros have to say about the tag.
Have vintage Elvis tees? Let me know!

What everyone above me said. I love old sports stuff! Very cool find, by the way- welcome!

You can start by looking to see what is already listed/completed on ebay itself. You might find a shirt with a similar design to help you effectively date it.
Another great resource for dating sports shirts is sportslogos.net
-though this old Lobos logo (say that three times fast) is not pictured. Most universities tend to have an athletic program history page on their website too so you can sometimes date old logos that way.
I don't think there's a huge market for UNM stuff, but the right bidder would be allllll over that thing for $40-$50. You might have to wait, but there's not much competition there. Add a little bit about the history if you can find it and you're golden.
Now I NEED to know when they used that logo!
Collegiate Pacific is pure loomspun honey. I love that brand!
