Allison Mickey Mouse and Disney Questions

Just wondering if this is closer to 70s or 80s...

Tag is faded but says Allison and it's a 50/50. I see one other Allison Mickey shirt on this site and it says it's from the 70s, but I think this one is 80s.

Also, anyone know what is up with the Disney shirts that are tagged Sherry's? I see them all over and, quite frankly, the designs are so ugly. When did Disney start branding their own stuff?

I agree that this shirt looks more 80s than mine at: http://www.defunkd.com/product/MA82919/ ... -t-shirt-s

From a quick search over at ebay I found this: http://www.ebay.com/itm/Vintage-1980s-M ... 3a70ac5c9f

The way that description reads, Allison partnered with Disney to make Disney Brand shirts. I couldn't find much else out, but from what I've seen, it looks like Disney had branded everything by the early-mid 80s.

I've seen this tag on shirts from 1983: http://www.ebay.com/itm/Vintage-Mickey- ... 4843fcf616

Interesting... I've seen that blue tag before, but didn't think it was that old.

Obviously, there is a lot of Disney stuff out there, but most of it, like I said, is rather ugly. The nice simple designs are the best.

It seems both Disney and Warner Brothers were, at one time, connected to Velva Sheen, too. I sold this awhile back:

The shirts always say something like "Disney by Velva Sheen," but I've seen the same thing with Bugs Bunny shirts, too. Overall, it's pretty interesting to see when companies stop using outside shirts and just make their own. Of course, this is common with the retro-style shirts.

To muddy the waters even further, I've got this one hanging around:

80's, early 90's? Makes me wonder if Velva Sheen was ultimately bought out by Jerzees (and the Disney license went with them), or if some of these shirts are just Florida boardwalk bootlegs? I'm sure there were and are shops up and down both coasts that sell Mickey Mouse shirts to the tourists on their way to Orlando.
