A partner and myself block all buyers that have reported items as not received or were deadbeat and did not pay. Anyone else want to post their lists and compile a master list of the buyers that make our lives hell?? Could save us all some future heartache... and a few gray hairs.

I updated my list recently with some of your blocked bidders and it stymied one pain in the ass who asked for the block to be removed, so this is a worthwhile thread!

Omg, what a huge list of a-holes!!! I block all international bidders on eBay and seemed to have lucked out so far being a low volume peddler. Thanks for the lists!

This guy is an active buyer & seller of vintage sneakers & Nike/Jordan merch with 95.5% feedback. Tried to run an "item not received" game with me (item tracked & delivered to his address). He sent messages like "What, no signature confirmation??" (something he never asked for and I never offered). As soon as I stepped up and let him know (nicely) that I was aware of this process and would take it through Ebay, he backed down and sent this message (4 days after the delivery):

"actually just checked the mail and it arrived today. weird that it shows 24th and not delivered til now. thanks for the shirt. as described. if u ever come across any nike or jordan vintage t shirts. let me know. im a huge jordan n nike fan
thanks."

I wish I would have seen that post about the three fraudsters from Malaysia you listed for Hattrick. Yes, 12hysteric81 picked up a free Levis Big E shirt off me recently. While most of my scammers come from Malaysia and Thailand, I have noticed something else over the years. In the United States, I have had problems with girlfriend/boyfriend user names. These are just examples (not anyone I have dealt with), tiffanyandmark or chrissyandbrian. It seems that people that create user names as such are usually impossible to please. Sorry to anyone legit who wants to celebrate their wonderful relationship in an ebay user name. I always anticipate a problem with these kind, and I am usually not let down.

On the first issue though, I pose a possible solution or curtailment.

Jimmy, would it be worth the time and effort to compile all of the blocked names in alphabetical order with the option for sellers to check a user they have been defrauded by? There could be a running total, and the repeat offenders would be more noticeable. This could also help sellers build a case against these perps. For example, I have just been defrauded by 12hysteric81 and so has Hattrick. And maybe 5 others have too. I could then contact ebay, assuming that they would help (not sure), and this scammer could be shut down. I am not sure if they could just create a new name or not after a violation as such, but at least it would slow them down.

Is this idea too ambitious?

It's a good idea for sure. Problem is that eBay is negligent in the fraud area when it comes to protecting sellers. And I've grown tired of fighting the battle because we proved their reporting system is a joke - we had 10 users participate in reporting a counterfeit item and nothing became of it. Search the forum for "report item experiment."

I must admit after years of effort I've given up on trying to make eBay safer. It was a lost cause. However, the good that came from this is the Collective. Put my energy into a safe and fair marketplace. Open an account with us and know that scammers are not allowed to get away with this stuff over and over.

But by all means if you want to take on the project feel free to rally support and participation here. I want it to be safer for all of you...I just have to focus my energy on making improvements at home.

Just had an idea that I haven't fleshed out yet: It would be nice to compile a real name/address list of the ebay scammers to have handy when -- not if, but when -- some of them find their way over here.
