Dealing with the haters

Got my first bit of hate mail via ebay today.

After receiving an inquiry about a pretty pricey shirt, I got pretty excited and wrote a well thought out note explaining the evidence that proves the shirt was exactly as I had stated in the listing.

The guy wrote back saying there was no way to prove it wasn't a remake and that I'm a a-hole for trying to sell something like that.

I'm sure others have dealt with this type of thing before?

Yup - I used to get emails like that all the time..some pretty nasty. Just part of the gig. People get frustrated when something they want is out of their price range and don't understand the market. Just delete the email and forget about it - they will never be converted in to a customer and you'll just waste time and energy on them.

That Dead tee is totally legit!

As someone who worked in the screen printing industry all through the 80's and part of the 90's I have a pretty discerning eye. The patina on the print of your tee can't be faked even though many continue to try.

There's no substitute for 20+ years of age. Additionally the high quality of the printing is another indicator it's the real thing.

I wouldn't spend any time worrying about "haters".

Some people just don't get it and never will. 8-)

Thanks for the support Johnny.

Yeah, there's no way this shirt could be a fake. It just feels different than anything modern day, and the print is just beautiful. Measurements, tag, and copyright all measure up.

Fits well too! :)

That's the best when they still fit. So many of the best vintage rock tees are just way too small for us guys.

i still get about one a year singing this tune: "you're selling thrift store junk for a profit, shame on you"

shame on you for taking a calculated risk based on expertise and selling something for more than you spent on it, western civilization.

I feel you man. Just dont bother with ppl like him. It's not worth your time. Let him say what he wants to say as long as you know what you are selling is genuine because people into vintage will be able to tell if its genuine or not just by looking at your product n not his groundless comments.
