Post by VintageManiac »

So, I just got this message from ebay when I tried to re-list a shirt- is this standard practice, anyone receive this message before?

Attention Sellers:

Important message

We're sorry for the inconvenience, but in order to maintain a safe trading environment, there's a limit on the number of times individual sellers can list certain items in a period of 30 consecutive days.

You've reached the 30-day selling limit for the type of item you're trying to list. This isn't a reflection on your account or selling activity. These limits apply to all accounts. But it does mean you won't be able to complete this listing right now. (You can still list other kinds of items, though.)

Items that are subject to selling limits can change, so we can’t be specific about which listings fall under these protective limits.

Long-time sellers with proven track records and other positive account attributes may be eligible for higher selling limits. If you believe that you would qualify, please review our selling limits page for more information.

You may be able to list this item in 21 days.

So, I take it this email is norm. Just when I started putting 10 auctions at a time, I get my money held for 21 days (if i dont get feedback) and they limit me even though I should have more according to my 50 auctions a month. I guess suck is an adjective for them.

If you call, they will raise your limit. Not much, but some. You can do this every month.

They might raise your limit. They didn't for me when I called. They said it would raise automatically when they reviewed my account at the end of the month and then when that happened, it raised slightly. Still worth a call, but I never get my hopes up when dealing with them.

I had this happen to me a few months ago and I was livid. I had 2,000 feedback and top rated power seller status. It was in no way fair. And I suddenly had way too much free time on my hands.

I called customer service and they lifted it after a few transfers and maybe 20 minutes. I thought "that was too easy."

Turns out it was.

The "lift" was ONLY a 24-48 hour one, as I would later found out. Had they specifically told me.. I would have drank 5 red bulls and listed 50+ items.

Called customer service the second time, that's how I found out it was a temporary lift. They were reading off a script and not going to help me again. I was losing my cool and becoming an asshole so I just hung up before I made the situation worse for myself.

I had to figure out what items I could list by messing around with trying to relist old items to test it, and work around it with my results. Good luck.

talk to them..i was unable to list any item for two months, i keep calm and hope after one month the limits will end, but it was not. So, i send an email and ask when can i continue listing, they replied with an automated email said that i have to wait for 4-8 weeks. After 8 weeks passed by, i still unable to list, i send another email

"hye..i have a selling limits with my account, its was almost two month i am on limitation. I've contacted ebay last month and they said i have to wait 4 to 8 weeks. I am close to become silver power seller, so you know how serius i am on selling in ebay. I Hope the limitation can be removed so we both can make money for each other. Thanks"

Finally there a human among the robots, i was able to list 500 item per months with a below performance standard..
