2009/2010 Swans WL+LOL Shirt [Reprint]

Post by Scrub »

Now obviously 09/10 is not a vintage Shirt per se, but the design, the print quality and the fact that exact same one with the tag ripped off just sold for $150 might make it interesting
there might be a real 90s version with the YOUNG GOD on the back, same as the old shirts sold during their tour

I have personally purchased the shirt from a now (since 2015) defunct German [official] merchandise store that often sold single items (spare yourself the pain of looking at his Facebook page, he only posted the items that weren't selling on the website to promote his eBay and amazon store for like 10€ each).
The shirt was 17€ when I bought it.

Here is what I've been able to piece together; The Tennessee River tag places the shirt around 2010.

According to the Waybackmachine the shirt did appear in the store on the 14. of march 2010 at the latest (there are almost no captures for the website) The title and article number matches my invoice.

YoungGod did release some sort of merch items prior to their reunion

Sadly we also lack critical information.

During Oct. 09 other musicians signed to YoungGod did tour around Germany, my theory is that they brought random merch to sell at their shows. If it was some big production run or bootlegger we would see many more of those shirts, at least I think so.

In 2016 my curiosity piqued and I did e-mail YoungGod to inquire about the design since I was unable to find literally anything and the print quality does not match a bootleg, Michael Gira replied "Yes we made those shirts long ago". I did not inquire further since to me that meant it was from the 90s.

Now the shirt I may have worn once, possibly never washed and for sure never ironed. It's been folded or rather crinkled for over a decade in my closet or in boxes. Even at my lowest weight it was a bit too small for me.

The Shirt Itself:

Anything you see is just specs of dust, this is not a sales post. If anyone has any further information please let me know.
