Flying Tigers WW2 x Fed Ex Airlines 90s or late 80s?

Post by tux »

So I was thrifting last week in a usually dry goodwill, and right off a new rack while making new friends with a goodwill worker that let me check the new rack I found this 90s or late 80s Size Large MadeInUsa FruitOfLoom Flying Tigers x Federal Express Air Freight Shirt with cool art back hit, I’m thinking of probably keeping it cause it’s my first white vintage shirt (my best cuz i’m still new was a black reebok y2k allen iverson tee). Anyways, after researching, it’s apparently a WW2 pilots that created a airfreight company that later merged with fedex, so it made me suspcious that the signature inside the shirt is a pilots signature idk if that adds any value but still very cool. I couldn’t find any comps except for a similar one for a air fed ex back hit that had it priced 70 bucks on grailed and not a sold comp, i was thinking 20-30 before hand but now Im not sure. Any help with this is appreciated ❤️❤️

Very cool story and research. Are you thinking that black part near the seam is a signature?

Seems unlikely someone would sign the inside of a shirt.

The piece does look like it's crispy deadstock though!

Yes sir, it seems to look like that. I was wondering why there was a random ink stain from the front, but then I looked inside and found what looks like a signature of some sort. By looking at it closer I could only get CHA and the rest of the letters I cant illegible to me, But I apologize for it being upside down haha.
