hi
I found this shirt
it's tagged Russell athletic
it reminds me of the movie Forrest Gump when he was just running and there was literally no finish line.

the shirt graphic says there is no finish line
any ideas if it's an early Nike? and if so could you all help determine a year?

thanks

I'm gonna throw something way out there
I read Nike posted the logo There is no finish line in 1977.
could this be before that and Nike took that slogan for themselves?

If it's true that slogan came to be in the 70s - could be pre Nike or someone trying to leverage their slogan...or just a coincidence - or it may have been a term in running culture.

It could be Nike - if the print is incomplete - maybe the logo was meant to be on the back...which is prime real estate when someone is running. But no one will bite on that story...unless you dig around and find one thats double sided...and even then...the Nike logo is the meat of the value. The tag is of the right era.

There are mountains in Oregon but I couldnt figure out if Cactus' are part of the landscape.

Also there's this: http://www.defunkd.com/blog/2011/08/07/ ... nish-line/

I wonder if on Forrest Gump they were relating him to Nikes no finish line theme, as they used him making the Smiley face shirts and the stuff happens bumper stickers. do you know what year that tag is from?
Did early Nike ever use Russell t-shirts blanks?
thanks

It could definitely be late 70s. I cant say for sure if Nike ever used another blank - sometimes companies did in their early goings.

Without any Nike branding its just a running themed tee...would be tough to spin it. But you could list with the term Nike Slogan/tagline in the title.
