Hi there,

Loving the forum!

I’m looking for help appraising this 1993 Mercury Rev shirt. Any help would be greatly appreciated!

I've included photos of the front, back, label, front print, rear print, Jonathan Donahue signature, Jimy Chambers signature, sleeve and sleeve hem. Plus a photo of me wearing it in 1993 to help verify it's real 😊

The shirt was bought and signed after a gig in the summer of 1993. I remember Jonathan being quite quiet and humble, Jimy was much more excitable.

The shirt is XL and is in excellent condition with no holes, fraying or obvious marks. It was worn and washed several times in the 90s, so the signatures (in permanent marker) aren't going anywhere.

Happy to answer other questions.

Thanks for anything you can advise.

Very cool, one (without signatures) sold this year for $300.

The autos change it though, that person likely bought it to wear, and who ever this lands with can't wear it. So it then becomes more of a autograph piece, and I'm not sure what the sigs are worth.

Certainly for someone who wants to display it, a t-shirt is a great medium to have framed, but the sigs are on the back, so then the front print gets lost while on the wall.

It's a tough one to appraise!

Thanks Jimmy,

That's really useful. Hopefully someone might want to wear it even with the signatures.. I remember thinking it was cool at the time... But that was back in 1993 :D

Cheers, Al

It is awesome, consider keeping and framing it.

The prob with signatures, they wear it once, and they can't launder it- or the autos go bye bye :(
