Early 80s FootJoy Robiks tennis shoe

Post by cokenner »

Hey all. There's a pair of FJ Robiks sitting at a local resell store and I am tempted to buy. They're a 6 1/2 and deadstock. In the attached picture they are the third shoe down. Seemed to be the only info I could find on them. Any info from the experts is always appreciated!

Doing this from mobile ATM so URL link for now til I get home to upload the pic.

hmmm - that's a brand that has flown completely under my radar - never heard of it! I scoured past eBay listing - no tennis results. I searched two sneaker related blogs and there doesn't seem to be any entries for them - which tells me they aren't on many radars. Plus size 6.5 is small...could be a worth a grab if they're super cheap...but I wouldn't put too much stock in them. They do look slick but not many people could wear them.

FJ has a great vintage golf shoe history. Some of the leather wingtip style golf shoes are $150-400 depending on the shoe. These shoes remind me of Nike Waffle trainers kinda.

This place has been great for supplying me with vintage shoes. There's a pair of PF Flyers I'm waiting to come down on price and I just picked up a pair of Trax sneakers from the 60s/70s that have been barely worn.

Thanks for the reply Jimmy.
