Found these just today. As you can see in some of the pics they have glue that has seeped from between the sole and the shoe. Any idea on how to remove it?

I tried applying nail polish remover with a q-tip and wiping off, but it's pretty well cured/set in. I also stopped this because on some parts I started removing the white paint, not noticeably thank goodness.

Also, in the cracked spots of the upper shoes any chance of making that look nicer/more presentable?

Other than a good wipe down, I usually leave them as-is. As you experienced, most solvents will just damage the sneaker and make things worse.
I also try to wash the old laces if they are not too shot or throw a new pair on. Spruces up the presentation.
Just a little elbow grease and new laces.

Ah, thanks for the reply. The laces are pretty new it seems. I removed them to clean underneath the tongue and inspect the insoles. I guess with vintage shoes, it something the buyers are willing to deal with. Nice J's btw.

I tried using magic eraser on my old sneakers once but it kinda messed up the surface. Maybe just focus on the parts that really need cleaning? Just an idea.
