I picked up a 70s IronKlad t of an old racing club I am part of. Bought it for myself, and once I got it I was kinda let down once I found out it wasn't screen printed - rather, it was a heat transfer... Bummer.
Anyone have any suggestions on how I might be able to subdue that syntheticy/rubbery feel those old heat transfers have? After putting it through the wash a few times, it comes out squeaky clean new everytime - no me gusta...
Really want to keep this one - any suggestions will be appreciated!
And am I the only one that feels this way about heat transfers? [Sigh]
Re: Breaking a NOS heat transfer t?
Doh! It will happen with time - and then probably wear off a few washes later! if you really want I'm sure you could use some ultra fine sandpaper lightly, but those thing deteriorate on their own.

Re: Breaking a NOS heat transfer t?
Who am I kidding - its never going to have the nice feel of a screen print, etc
I guess I'll just have to just pass it along. Thanks for the advice anyhow. I realized there is no way of breaking in the feel of the print without going out of my way to artificially age it, and that flies in the face of why I dig vintage in the first place... Darn transfers.
