I bought this for cheap but I don't know if it's old or even real and I'm nervous about removing the tag if it's from the 90s.

Great, it's legit. And very cool to still have the hang tag. Star Trek tees have been coming around the last five years, will have the most value in the deadstock condition - with the tag.
