Australian Soundgarden Blackhole Sun Brockum China

Post by shtin »

The only place I can find this tag is on your forum. I am unsure it looks good to me because who is faking a china brockum tag. Double stitched and Rare size for brockum but fits more like medium.

That's is a lofty chest for a S.

It's also rare there's even a Brockum S to begin with.

But I assume these tags have their own set of measurements, I've never studied it, as they are fairly scarce.

But also defies logic someone would go through the trouble of faking this tag, and then make a size S.

Sorry, I may have to look deeper into this. After doing some side by sides. There are some inconsistencies with the tags we have archived.

The back of your tag looks like it says SYCNEY, is that correct?

Thats what Im saying to fake this tag makes no sense since its the least common brockum. Shirt is def worn but I agree big chest for a small. I did not notice it said Sycney but yes it does. The spelling/font/spacing all look really good compared to the fakes but still no clue.

Yeah even a print comparison isn't looking good.

The back looks like it's "digital cracking" to mimic a screenprint ink on an old shirt looking that way.

The colors are off.

I believe this is one of those shirts that was sold for years at Hot Topic, and I have noticed those versions are slightly different in color.

But a lot of red flags here.
  • The S Label Size
  • The measurements of the S (21.5" is at least in L in that era.)
  • Digital Cracking
  • Colors off
  • SYCNEY
This may be a case of counterfeiters exploiting a tag that is more obscure. And for the exact reason of what just transpired here, both of us assume no one would bother to make a fake of this tag.

The theory with the legit versions of this tag is that they were reissues, yours does say 1995 - whereas the others I found are 1994.

Where did you get it?

I don’t thinks its digital cracking seems like its from stretching - its like the metallica aop if you know how that feels/cracks. Ive come across a few fakes and this print is just not the same it feels more normal so thats why it weirds me out. I got it from someone who claims to have gotten it from OG owner but they thought it was fake since they never saw a brockum made in china so basically got it for nothing.

So when you stretch the fabric horizontally, those are true ink cracks that widen on the back? Would have to see in person.

Mission would be to find another one with this tag. Also, find another made in China Brockum tag with that error and size S for that matter.

A lot to unpack with this one lol

Yes they are definitely true cracks when stretching - they follow the fibers when stretched i can show in a video but not sure if i can upload one here. Definitely interesting ill try to search for more brockum china as well. I assume when you say color is off you meant the pink on the front thats the only thing i noticed
