I found this Harley tee yesterday and promptly put it on ebay...

I've seen a couple variations of this print before so while it's not rare, the shirt does epitomize the American made vs Japanese motorcycle rivalry and those kind of prints don't have a problem selling.

Edit: Why did you date it to the 70s?

Yeah, not a super awesome one but good. Too bad about the shape. It's really mis-shapen. Why did I date it to the 70s? ...?

Yeah, do you estimate this to be 70s because that's when the Japanese motorcycle companies entered the American market, jump starting the anti-japan posters, clothing etc or because there's something about the shirt? (I'm just looking to learn more).

whoa...nice one....that's going to fly. i've never seen this before. going to feature it right now. Could very well be 70s, Honda started in the U.S. in the 60s.

Oh yes, of course the Japan vs American motorcycle thing really hit the fan in the 70s. To the best of my knowledge that is... I'm no expert. Pretty sure it carried over into the early 80s.

My guess at the age is more based on the design, the older harley logo, and font type. Also it being all cotton and the collar detail. It's just a guess though.

But I'd put money on it not being older than early 80s.
