Hanes Heavy Weight 50/50 blend in the 80s?

Post by TrickyGuns »

I recently won this auction off of ebay. I know its probably a bootleg of the original since the original is in color and this is black and white. But i was hoping it was at least a bootleg from the same era. The seller claims its from the 80s on a Hanes heavyweight 50/50 blend. Did Hanes even make heavyweight cotton/poly blends in the 80s? I fear its like a year 2000 hanes 5170 model. I didn't pay much for it, but im just wondering the weigh in from you guys. I know the picture is blurry and small, but it just doesn't resemble anything in the tag gallery. Will take a better one when i receive it.

No, and it's ridiculous (although, not uncommon) that the seller listed it as a shirt from the 80s. I've never seen a 1988 era l.a. guns tee on a hanes tag (usually spring ford or the euro tags without a brand), but if any were, here is what a hanes 50/50 tag from that year looks like:

It looks like a late 90s even early 00s Hanes tag. Get ready to file a dispute!
