early 70's Eagles t-shirt

Post by bodhi »

Hi guys, just found this today. I couldn't readily find another like it anywhere to base a price on, wanted to get some opinions. From what I can tell it's an early 70's tee (unbranded tag, poly/cotton blend), with multi-color glittery print on the front (but doesn't really feel like a heat transfer or iron-on, and I've had a Clapton shirt from the same era previously that had a similar glitter print method).

All in all it's in good shape, just a few minor blemishes and some fading/pilling. The print is tip top. Any thoughts on a price range?

Nice find!

Hmmmm. I think it has to be a heat transfer given the gradient of colors. You can have sparkles in screen printing ink - but I don't believe that color blend - where it transitions from one color to another be achieved.

That's definitely another 70's Head Shop tee.

Looks to be a heat transfer, which were almost more common than screen printing for a while.

These older, rare and unusual early to mid-70's tees are kinda hard to price sometimes in my opinion.

Value is pretty subjective. Probably one of those pieces that will sell for what someone is willing to pay for it.

Maybe a fixed price of $75.00.

Or take a risk and set the auction at $0.99 :o

Iron-on without a doubt, which people like to buy on that one not-defunkd selling site.

Thanks for the info fellas!

It's now listed, as an auction. Started it at somewhat higher than 99 cents but a good bit lower than the $75 suggested, curious to see if anything pops. If not, I'll let it marinate in the store for a while. I'll update here if it does anything.

Can you post the link to the listing Bodhi? I'd be interested to see how it does.

So this finally did sell, after sitting around for a while. Got a best offer of $71, after several attempts to auction it at much lower prices with no interest. Funny how that works. Thanks again for the input!
