Polo Sport Question

Post by studiolano »

In the Polo wing section of the blog, you have down that Ralph Lauren Polo Sport was introduced in 1993 and went defunct in 1998. I found a RLPS jersey that says 1967-03...I'm assuming that the 03 = 2003.
I also did a google search and found a entry that said the following.
"Polo Sport: A discontinued line of casual sports clothing that was introduced for men in 1993 and women in 1996. It was retired in 2005 and ultimately replaced by RLX as well as the Golf and Tennis lines."
I never questioned the info that I got from the blog entry but this kind of blows it out of the water.

Sorry to be a Nagging Nancy but I have been putting vintage in my auctions for anything Polo Sport related. I hate being wrong :D

Interesting - I can't seem to figure out where we picked up that date from. But for eBay - 2003 is still a decade - their rules are pretty loose so I wouldn't omit that keyword!

What's the link to your source?

Cool - that's the only time I've ever seen that. Could be right. Have you seen it anywhere else?

No, I've never had a reason to research it until I found this jersey.
