I bought this tshirt from local used clothing shop. Can anyone help me verify if this shirt real or repro.
From my view, the only problem i see is the tag. No material indication and also tag says Medium (40-42). As far as i know it should be 38-40. Any help would be appreciated.

Re: Batman 1966 Tshirt
Definitely real, but I don't think the copyright date is a correct indicator of its actual age. That tag is more likely early 80s, late 70s at the earliest I'd think. But it's common for these kinds of properties to have their original copyright dates on the actual artwork itself rather than reflecting the printing of the t-shirt. That's why there's a billion Peanuts/Snoopy shirts that were printed in the 80s and 90s that have a 1956 copyright date on it. That always confuses people, but that's just the way these certain properties are labeled on merchandise up to a certain point in history
Re: Batman 1966 Tshirt
Agreed. The copyright dates throw people for a loop. Especially annoying when someone like Powell Peralta reissues beyond 2000 yet keeps the 1980s copyright. I think weve all been burned by this a few times.

I could be wrong (and probably am), but I thought Penny's only used that style of "P", sometimes referred to as the Atomic P until the mid 70s. Also, I think it was 1970 when they dropped the apostrophe. Would love to learn more about Towncraft though.
Re: Batman 1966 Tshirt
Interesting..did not know those Pennys deets.
I thought later because the chest seems large for a M. 40-42. Although not sure if there's any set rule on that.
Here's one I know is from 1976..
So does that mean this Batman is 70-75? Unless of course they're just left over blanks.

According to this, the Atomic P and dropped apostrophe dates the shirt to 1971 or before.
