Hey,

I'd love to get some insight on this Dead Kennedys shirt?

Not sure if it's an original, a vintage bootleg, or some extreme wacky counterfeit?

My guess is that it's a vintage bootleg from the 80s from the Steadman Super 50 tag and wear on the print...

I've seen "original" versions before with some white and goldish highlights on the print, and printed on Screen Stars tees - http://www.defunkd.com/product/MA32004/ ... ut-t-shirt

Although at up close inspection the print on this shirt appears to have multiple passes on the screen print to include the highlights, they're so faded that it only looks like a single gray print at first glance...

On the other hand, Supreme recently released an official version of the graphic in collaboration with the band with a much more monochromatic looking print - http://www.thedailystreet.co.uk/2014/04 ... ollection/

There doesn't seem to be a copyright line on any version.

Any thoughts?

Thanks!

All signs point to being old. and if theres print fade that indicates the original color/design..likely original. I've never noticed a copyright. Where did you get it?

Jimmy,

Thanks for the super fast reply, much appreciated!

After closely scrutinizing, all the faded highlights look spot on for where they should be on a crispy original. They're just way more faded then any of the other shirts I've seen which raised an eyebrow.

Other then that, the shirt is in pretty great shape and butter soft.

I actually scooped it up at a Goodwill this morning. Merry Christmas?

Thanks again!
