Metallica Caretaker shirt, is it vintage & price plz?

Post by crazymoon5 »

I have a 1994 Wherever I may Roam caretaker shirt. I have not seen this anywhere & wondering if anyone can help put a price on it.
Is an Acme brand made in Australia licensed to Giant, 100% cotton.
1 slight stain across bottom front as pictured but otherwise almost new.
What you guys think its worth?

I'd venture to say it's not vintage. It was made in China. A tee from 1994 would probably either state Made in USA or Assembled/Made in Mexico with USA fabric.

Hey, can assure you these are vintage. I've had them bagged up in my wardrobe for the last 20 years. I am 39 now, haven't worn them much since I turned 20 & had them for at least 3 yrs prior to that. I have 11 shirts in total, some being Brockum, others are an Acme brand made in Australia.

So then why would you ask if its vintage in your title ? :ugeek:

Anywho, (if the shirt truly is from the 90s) the made in China tag will be a big turnoff for buyers, but if you list it while having a few other 90s vintage Metallica tees with more common tag characteristics on your profile it will seem legit enough for someone out there. Your probably best off acknowledging the strange tag in your description while also coaxing buyers to check out the other tees on your profile. They can put the pieces together.

Here is a similar tee that recently sold for 75$, but this one has the Giant tag that buyers expect to see: http://www.ebay.com/itm/METALLICA-Vinta ... 1145363458.

I think it would be hard to pull more than 30$ for the one you have, mostly because of the tag.
