This is my recently-acquired "The Blue and the Grey" shirt- an obscure 1982 CBS TV movie with Stacy Keach in the lead and Gregory Peck as Lincoln (just like in every other movie he made). Had no idea it existed, let alone merited this amazing crew shirt- found it looking for bargoons on the 'bay, and was rewarded with the punch-you in the nose typeface and priceless, epic-passionate artwork.

As a movie buff, I always love finding shirts for forgotten movies, and was wondering if anybody had a deeply obscure movie or TV item in their closets that they wouldn't mind sharing. I don't mean cult movies, I movies without any kind of fan base that you just remember fondly or just plain couldn't believe merited a t-shirt. Any takers?

The immortal Better Off Dead! What boy-child of the 80s wouldn't dig on that? Amazing find!

It's not obscure, but I had forgotten about the movie until today. It brings back some memories.

It's got "gremlins" written on the sleeves", copyrighted 1984.

Amadeus won the oscar for best picture in 1984. I have to think, that there must have been some heavy politics involved, because clearly, The Mutilator was far and away, the superior film that year. Sure Mozart's a musical genius...good for him...but did he compose this: By sword, by pick, by axe, bye bye??? No? Oh. I rest my case!

Mozart was so lazy, he forgot to finish a symphony. Buddy Cooper has more stick-to-it-ive-ness, and is thus the greater genius.

On a completely different end of the cinematic scale... a 1988 Soviet Cinema retrospective, from back when the Toronto fest was still called the Festival of Festivals. Pretty slammin' design, if I may say so.

So many of my fave obscure T's were from my fat period and were ditched when I dropped 40 pounds. I had the Virginia Madsen vehicle Fire with Fire, the b-horror Black Roses (which was shot at my high school), Laws of Gravity with a pre-Sopranos Edie Falco, and, in a one-two punch of arthouse cult cool, Caro Diario and Hard Core Logo. Wish I still had all those to share.

I see your Lynch and raise you this video promo for Clan of the Cave Bear... an amazing image of Daryl Hannah. If the movie had lived up to the picture, it would have been a masterpiece. It did not live up to the picture...

Perhaps as if like Rae Dawn Chong in QFF, Daryl Hanna had been totally nude most of the film, it would have been a more entertaining movie!

Hmmm... was sort of dithering on putting it up at all until you asked. Thing is, the movie was a flop, but the book it's based on is a worldwide cult bestseller, and I was wondering if some Jean M. Auel uber-fans would fight over it just to complete their collections. Was going to use it as the first shirt in a new pop-culture-time-forgot feature for the Defunkd blog... hmm hmm hmm.

What does that Killer Klowns shirt look like?

BTW, that Quest for Fire t-shirt took about 6 months to sell for, finally going for $14! I thought it would have brought some big fight from some Jean Jacques Annaud fans but...
