Vintage Zippers
Does anyone know of a good resource for them? Thanks.

Re: Vintage Zippers
It's missing ALOT but here's one:

It's fine that they don't have the more obscure 30s-50s brands (royal, swift, etc) but they really should have crown zippers and more lighting and talon variations as the shapes are sometimes helpful in dating.

Out of curiosity, are you researching a specific piece or just looking to update your reference book?

Re: Vintage Zippers
I think that thanks to trademark searches and patent dates zippers are one of the earier things to date.
I'd be interested to see if there's a site out there that details buttons over the years in terms of size, material (bakelite, etc), design (13 star, "eye slit") etc.

That is a great resource! I've never even thought of dating a piece of clothing by the zipper design.
