Here's a Rainbowgasoline related blog comment:

I bought one of these Black Flag shirts from rainbowgasoline a while back and noticed another one had been posted up. If this shirt isn’t a phony, I don’t know what is, frankly. The screen printing is raised and too-good-of-new-to-be-true. I have sent the seller a polite and genteel Q informing him of my suspicions, but so far, no answer. I think someone took a pile of period-correct Screen Stars shirts and silkscreened a Pettibon flyer on the suckers. If it were genuine, why wouldn’t the seller be charging out the roof for it, given that he clearly knows what the value of the real deal would potentially be?

Spoofing champion. I haven't seen any of the original Mahagamage tags since the Tiny Pony era. Beware, Mahagamage obviously models their stuff after true vintage so this jersey could be used for evil.

Before reading this thread, I was looking at some of AC listings and was a bit suspicious. I simply asked if a shirt was original and about the tag, but received no answer. I decided to bid anyway and just take the risk only to find they had blocked me from bidding on their items. Guess they work on a "don't ask don't tell" policy.

Yipppp - they were still running the humpty t-shirts through their account two years after we confirmed they were bogus. They have no shame. Tiny Pony in disguise.

A classic mahagammage knock off not only evidenced by the tag with the name, but by the piss poor screen print job. I think I made better ones in high school graphics class.

Looks like TinaLove1991 has either moved to a new account or there's a new player peddling their merch.

Tina's inventory is 0 right now, maybe the multiple reports finally resulted in eBay warning them.

Dont think thats tinalove. For one the location is set as Philadelphia, (not that that means anything) and second Ive never seen TL reproduce those shirts (all awful quality bootlegs to boot) but also this seller seems to have a couple genuine vintage tees mixed in. Probably someone that doesnt know the difference or care.

Looks like there's a new booter in town - well - he's been at it for a while - goes about it very quietly only offering 1-2 at a time.

Quite obvious at this point he/she's printing on white vintage blanks using a machine - because he/she mainly offers black and white prints.

http://www.ebay.com/itm/Vtg-80s-CIRCLE- ... 878wt_1378

even the close-ups look horrible.

The rare color one that's available he/she doesn't offer a close-up of the design...wonder why?

grandpas_golf welcome to our list!

I'm a longtime collector and seller and wonder if I've ever been discussed on this board as being a bootlegger. I have a decent sized cache of deadstock shirts, many of which were made by winterland. One in particular is a Tone Loc Shirt with a very heavy silk screen on the front. i bought them from winterland when their warehouse moved in 2001/2002. The shirts were so minty that they still smelled like the inks. I'll have to start posting some pieces in the show and tell section, I've got a lot of interesting shirts. I've been working in a different field for the past few years and haven't been able to sell on ebay, but I've got the itch again and have been accumulating like crazy.

@theteetotaler - doubtful - we've got a good eye and nose for sniffing out the fakers. We take way more in to consideration than just an item being deadstock - design/printing flaws, feedback, lack of tags, suspicious posting practices, blurry closeups, etc.

I've come in to a few hauls of deadstock from the garages of ex-merch managers - we know they're out there.

Academy Clothiers - nothing really new here but funny they are still peddling the Humpty repro:

http://www.ebay.com/itm/ws/eBayISAPI.dl ... 798wt_1378

as well as the original they likely had that copied from:

http://www.ebay.com/itm/ws/eBayISAPI.dl ... 798wt_1378

plus - all of the iron on / heat transfer star wars tees they had converted in to fake vintage screen prints:

http://www.ebay.com/sch/m.html?_nkw=sta ... clothiers2

ridiculous.

Not that it really matters or anything, but all those "burnout" Star Wars tees- they sold a book of iron-on transfers back in the day, like 20 in the book or so. They were shitty ink transfers instead of the vinyl or whatever most transfers are made from. So they look all faded because it just bleeds into the material, rather than being pressed onto it. I made on for my son because I didn't want to spend the money on a true original just so he could spill everything on it.
