Talk about something not made “the way they used to”… The Stedman Super Hi-Cru T-shirt. I purchased an overstock of volleyball shirts in 1990 and have worn the sh*t out of them. They are now just starting to show signs of decay. They are the most comfortable 100% cotton T-shirt I have ever owned. Most cotton T-shirts are way too heavy, don’t breathe well and make me sweat! Not these Stedman’s. Even on the hottest summer day they keep you cool. Hanes apparently bought them just to snuff the competition. No Hanes shirt I own (i have many) can hold a candle to the good old Stedman. I have about 40 brand new Stedman’s still left in my stash. Unfortunately, they are Med and Large and I wear XL. Darn. Anyone out there want to trade??! Oh, Stedman’s were made in the good old USA, not some 3rd world sweat shop. Go figure.

Similar to the one posted at top, but probably a bit older.

This Sport-T tag is a little different than the one above. Not sure of era. Maybe 70’s to early 80’s? It is a tank top.

I still remember buying and wearing these fantastic t-shirts in the 80’s. Incredibly soft cotton, so well made – fit, felt and looked so great. Loved those nice, high, tight, finely-ribbed crew necks that always fit and looked so great. Not like this cheap, awful, Gildan crap that’s supposed to pass for a t-shirt these days. I won’t even use them to wax my car.

hye there, i found a shirt with this tag and printed POwell Peralta (caballero drago) on the front. some of my friend told me that Powell only works on ‘hi-cru’ but not ‘super hi-cru’. can anyone help me to figure it? thanks

1990s Stedman – notice the “wears well on America” tagline above the logo.
