I was under the impression that indie and alternative were more or less the same entity. What is the difference in the dictionary of Jimmy J?

I always thought of it in terms of the sound of the music? Alternative was more mainstream grungey U.S. rock, indie was softer UK stuff. But I was too busy listening to electronica in the early 90s so I really can’t speak with any authority.
This answered all my questions, I will sleep like a baby tonight. I hope it helps you too.

“The Verdict
So, yes, there is a distinction between ‘Alternative’ and ‘Indie,’ and now that you know, you too can use each judiciously. As for the differences between indie, indie-pop, and indie-rock, well, um, you’ll just have to use your imagination. Because there aren’t any, really.”

got a comment via email re: this post:
Hi,again 3 Morrissey T-shirts of “1991” are ALL “FAKE” made now! As for the original shirt, the copyright of “1991” is surely written to the bottom of a print. I buy many T-shirts from you. Didn’t you understand these as “FAKE”? You will not be professional supposing you do not understand. You should write the fact of “FAKE” on your BLOG!!! Thanks.

I have the T-shirt, pictured above, lower right, of the strange androgenous person with strange hairdo and huge rings. All I’d like to know is WHO IS that??
Thanks
