Buyer Alert: 1223coo (2011LADY1990)

I’ve heard so many complaints about this buyer over the years that a post like this is overdue. It’s evident that vintage t-shirt buyer 1223coo (then renamed happypretty10, now operates as 2011LADY1990) has been operating unethically for many years. Back in my eBay selling days I considered blocking him from my listings because I consistently noticed that he left negative feedback for sellers claiming that packages never arrived (among other complaints.) He continued to purchase from me many times until that inevitable day came when I got an email from him claiming a particular package didn’t arrive. And unlike any other Japanese person I have dealt with he’s extremely rude, demanding and threatening in all his communications. I refunded his money immediately – trying to avoid a PayPal claim – knowing that I didn’t have tracking on the package and they would automatically rule in his favor. But that was a mistake. Since most people are quick to refund him outside of an offical claim, he flies under their abuse radar because these instances don’t have reports attached to them. Which is why it’s probably a smart policy to always ask buyers to submit a PayPal claim. 1223coo has obviously mastered his technique, never repeatedly making claims against the same seller – and seems to target more novice sellers who don’t usually offer vintage tees for sale.

Here’s a sad story one seller reported on Christmas eve 2010. I was always aware 1223coo was a dealer, but didn’t know he operated online via www.out-put.net. This seller reports getting a claim filed against him and then actually finding the shirts in 1223coo’s blog at a later date (he since removed the url). Unbelievable. If you’ve had this situation with him you might want to see if your shirt is or was available in his store or featured on his blog (newoutput.exblog.jp).

Keep in mind, many popular sellers have told me that he has been a regular customer for years and never raised any issues. Monitor this page and see what kind of comments roll in and decide for yourself if he warrants blocked bidder list consideration.

He has tried doing this same schtick with me as well. After doing business with him several times, one day he decides to file a paypal claim because the item hadn’t yet delivered. Luckily I had tracking info and his claim was denied. He always tries to get you to ship the cheapest method which means no tracking and that plays right into his game. He will also ask for you to mark the shipment value down and put it as a gift so he doesnt get taxed. I have seen him leave negative feedback to those that didn’t follow his orders on marking a package down.

I was also recently alerted to an auction that he ran the price up on, and then retracted his bid. Once that bid was retracted, he bid the item up right under the dollar amount the highest bidder had placed. His reasoning for retracting the bid, “could not contact seller.” The seller said no attempt at contact was ever made and his run up bids came a minute after the retraction. The seller and buyer both reported him to ebay for doing this. Let’s hope ebay takes out the trash.

i’m pretty sure he will also tell the buyer to write a value $50 on the custom form. That is against ebay rule (custom fraud). If the seller still keep that message, seller can report to ebay. I’m inviting all his victim to report so we can get rid of him..

Can anyone vouch for the authenticity of his Seditionaries? Might be another way of nabbing him…

Never ceases to amaze me how Paypal operate. To the point where they are so negligent when it comes to buyers scamming they almost encourage this behavior….

He recently purchased about $100 worth of 80s punk/metal/new wave buttons from me. I started hearing bad things about him right after I shipped the buttons (without tracking). Luckily, he left positive feedback and said they arrived. I still blocked him from future transactions though.

This message is from the seller of one of the recent retractions he did: “Thought you’d like to know the latest on our Japanese weasel. He just changed his eBay name! Get this, he’s now HAPPYPRETTY10. There’s nothing too Happy or Pretty about this a-hole, and it turns out he’s had 26 bid retractions in the past six months. Nice combination, private feedback and bid retraction games. Retracting a bid and a minute later putting in a fresh one for one penny under the max. I called up eBay and they just listened to my story and mumbled alot. I said, “Would you like the eBay auction number?” “Uhhh…ok…” He took down the auction number, and the bidder’s name, and then said, “You can report this directly.” I said, “Yeah? WHERE??” “Through your seller dashboard.” “Oh? Why isn’t there simply a link to “report a problem with a bidder” and “problem is retraction?” Anyway, I did file, but all that’s happened is this guy’s gotten enough heat to change his name. One can’t even go on eBay message boards and name him, because eBay always removes the names of these “innocent” people and warns the poster that outing somebody can lead to suspension…”not the criminal, YOU the whistleblower.” I just reported him again. Now that I see 26 bid retractions, I think this guy has to GO. Time-wasting idiot. What was I supposed to do, re-list at $77 and see how high it might go? Hold you up another week and worry this sneak might have an accomplice who could do it all over again? I’m glad this type of thing doesn’t happen often. When it does, it sticks in the craw. (Not claw.) Ebay used to have a way of checking on what a bidder bids on, but I don’t think it works anymore. If it did, I’d check him every week and see how often he continues to retract. He needs to be retracted from eBay completely. “Happy” “Pretty.” What, RottenVicious10 was already taken?”

I think Paypal should look into how often this guy has filed his “I didn’t get my stuff” claim. You can report him and ask them to look into happypretty10.

Definitely contact eBay and ask how someone who has retracted 26 times is not suspended:

He sure knows how to play games. Hey Creep, you can’t change your ebay name more than once every 30 days. I will monitor EVERY month to make sure if you change it, we all know. PS, once a seller puts you on the BAN list, it doesn’t matter what your new name is, you’re still banned.

If any of you come across a new hinky bidder from Japan, one who does a lot of shill bidding, report him. Ebay has a rule about suspended bidders who try to make a comeback!
