Stories

We like to read stories. We all do. That’s why most of you also read DoubleCross like we do. We like hearing or reading stories about our favorite bands or individuals from those bands. It’s great, no complaints. But sometimes, just sometimes, it occurs to me that most of those stories took place before I even knew anything about hardcore. I’m not complaining really, but it can be hard to relate to the stories because of my time and place. That’s why I can appreciate sellers like pushinfatweight. Each auction tells the story of the band and the occasion of the shirt purchase. And coincidentally enough, most of the gigs he mentions, I attended. This helps me see the gig from another person’s eyes. You know, maybe I went to to bathroom as Dan Guns Up said a funny guffaw or maybe I was looking to the left when an amazing stage dive from a good friend came from the right. These things happen. But through these auctions, I can piece together things my crappy memory forgets. I’m about 75% certain I know who the seller is, and I believe he is a regular commenter on this board and vinylnoize.com. The next time I see him, I’ll make sure to ask.

Best story in this Ramallah tee auction. No doubt.
