Ending Soon – Rich Kid Shakedown

The Jazz June emerged from Kutztown, PA during a weird period in hardcore, 1996. Dudes were breaking edge, growing their hair out and getting lo-fi. This band started with dudes from Atari, a PA straight edge band from the mid 90s. Then dudes got funky with it. You could still see and sense the hardcore under pinnings, but this music was definitely more post hardcore. Lots of emotion, lots of flailing around, not as many high jumps and Xed up fists. No big deal, really as the music was electric. It really grabs your attention, and you have to go with it. Of course, their releases came on Initial Records. There was no better place for music of this style at the time. Initial was the place to be. The band did their thing and finally broke up a few years later. They played a well received reunion in 2009. Not sure anything can compare to that Punk Rock Prom gig, though.

I suggest snagging this shirt from grimmusthefatcat. No bids, less than $2 and less than 6 hours to go. Dumb if you don’t. This shirt features artwork from the cover of Breakdance Suburbia so you can assume it goes back to 1999.
