What you are looking at is a handout flyer form an early Minor Threat show. This may be the first mention of “straight edge” ever in print. This is certainly a very interesting flyer for your collection. My guess is that the winner of this will have the only copy left in existence.
I’ll let Jeff Nelson do the talking on this one…
This lyric sheet has what turned out to be the first appearance ever of the lyrics to the song “Straight Edge”, which as you may know ended up having a life of its own.
Even 26 years ago, right when Minor Threat broke up, this lyric sheet was really hard to find. We didn’t make that many of them – 50? 100? Certainly just about every copy given out got folded up by people to stick in their pocket, and who knows how many actually cared enough to save their copy and flatten it out once they got home. Who knew that there would continue to be interest in the band decades later? (the band certainly didn’t!)
This is the only copy of this lyric sheet I will ever be selling. I do not have any more of this lyric sheet that I will sell. If you want to get this first Minor Threat lyric sheet, especially one in dead mint condition, this will be your only chance.
