Record Labels

Ok.

All you whippersnappers, listen up.

Before you were born**, there were some record labels KILLING it at the distro table. You could purchase most of these albums with a vegan cookie and some tulsai.

First up.

Ebullition Records.

This label was huge in the political hardcore scene. They pretty much went in the opposite direction of Rev and Wishingwell. Instead of doing cool limited color vinyl, Ebullition mass produced black slabs and sold them for CHEAP. Their main goal was getting THE MESSAGE out there. And they did. And if you didn’t get the message there, you could always find it in Heartattack. Some wish they had not, others live and die by those bands: Struggle, Econochrist, Moss Icon, Spitboy, Torches To Rome, Yaphet Kotto, …

Great tshirt. Notice THE MESSAGE is key here. I would assume this is mid 90s. Looks super crisp.

Old Glory Records.

Policy Of Three, Assfactor 4, In/Humanity, Iconoclast, … Most of these bands won’t even ring a remote bell for lots of you. Personally, I never was huge on these bands. But since I lived in Worcester, I have a collection full of these albums.

BUT

Many of you will recognize the band AVAIL. They released a live 10″ on Old Glory Records. Oooffff, a 10″. Not sure how Avail hooked up with Old Glory Records, but it was a good score for Old Glory Records.

I remember going into the physical store only once. It was located above this creepy adult theater in Worcester, Paris Cinemas. I had a friend who worked behind the 4″ thick glass. He told me some nasty ass stories about that place. But upstairs, through a separate entrance, was Old Glory Records. They had this weird office space. Like drop ceilings, filing cabinets, the works. But they also sold records.

Dude always seemed nice. And he helped with The Space. So no complaints from me. The shirt is a little weird. But do your thing, I guess.
