After that big reunion gig at Club Lidos, I’ve been thinking a lot about the Slapshot movie. Granted, I’ve never seen it, but maybe that’s why I’ve been thinking about it. In my head, it’s much cooler than it likely is. Sadly, that seems to be how it goes with reunions and rehashing history. I never saw Slapshot before the late 90s, early 2000s. I remember the shows being awesome, but I’d have to assume the shows in the 80s were about a bazillion times more intense. Regardless, this isn’t going to stop me from watching the movie. And courtesy of moshua, I could watch the movie while wearing this limited to 30 friends and family tee. And believe me, we’ve already chided him about the photos.
Or better yet, I could rock this Boston Straight Edge “varsity jacket.” According to the seller, it’s all wool. Not sure how that makes it a varsity jacket … BUT, it did belong to Mark Proc. If you remember the stone ages of Bridge9 records, Proclamation was one of the first EPs the label released. 1998, sucka. Get your history on!
But when it all boils down, I’ll probably just grab this tee and watch that Slapshot movie instead …
Did that SlapShot documentary (or whatver it is) come out? Has anyone seen it?
for the most part the only people that saw it were people that went to film festivals. It played in Boston, Salt Lake City and in Canada.
Steve Risteen (original guitar player) has a copy and a few people have seen it at his house, but thats about it.
Suposidly Taang! is putting it out soon, but who knows what Soon means when it comes to Taang!
well my ‘Chip On My Shoulder’ shirt sold for $20 and I won the Boston Straight Edge jacket for $20… pretty good trade!
