Amenity/Down/DownSide shirts

Once again, seller jayasubhadra‘s auctions are a mystery to me. All I can tell for sure it that he THINKS Mike Down from Amenity made these. I think that they are Mike Down printed shirts for his DownSide label that one of the Amenity records came out on. Or maybe he had another band called Down. Or maybe he just like to make shirts with his name on them. As usual if you have any info, ring us up!

As Casey said, Mike Denny/Down definitely made this Down Side shirt. As a matter of fact, he printed these longsleeves, some Statement (San Diego band) shirts and some Chain Of Strength (Has The Edge Gone Dull?) shirts for me to sell in 1993 I believe. He got the Chain screens from Chris Bratton and had the other two shirt screens. It was the first time Strife came East and we (Mouthpiece) did a handful of shows with them (including the big Middlesex County College show with Outspoken and a bunch of other bands). I sold all these shirts at those few shows that we did together. Down or Down Side was Mike’s label and Mike actually changed his last name to Down from Denny sometime around 1991.

Hola…Wow…love this site…! The Down/Side Shirts were printed for the label, which in the beginning was conceived as more of a organization/crew. We booked shows, put out records, printed shirts, did benefits. The “DOWN” Shirts were for people that helped work the shows, or helped doing mail-order for the label…etc…To get one of these long sleeves…there were no more than 36 ever made… The shirt I dont see on the site, and which really started it all was the “End Racism” shirts we made. These sold a TON!, they were also later “jacked” by Zed Records and Big Frank, and Brotherhood took the idea a step further with the”F@$# Racism” Shirts. We also printed shirts for Chain of Strength, Inside Out (I later played guitar in), Statue, and lots of other local bands…I got a TON of old shirts in my Moms garage…Alot of them never worn….And alot of old BYO and Wishing Well shirts, like the first print UNITY shirts…etc….KEEP UP THE AMAZING SITE! TEE TILL DEATH!
