OKD BIN

I couldnt tell you how many times I had to sit through a OKD set. They seemed to play all the time in the CT/MA/RI area. I was a not a fan of them although they did provide some amazing times and memories for me. The thing with them is that they had a lot of fans! Which meant a lot of stagediving opportunities! I remember one gig at “club infinities” in springfield mass that was particularlly packed and a friend and I would just try to do the stupidest shit possible. Good times all around. Thank you OKD.
btw – can anyone tell me what one king down means?

I love this shirt deign. I’m moshing thinking about it. The name itself means nothing but god damn that band ripped.

  2. shane says:

agree with zach, but price is too high.

  3. Emil says:

stagediving to bands you “aren’t a fan of” is not honest behavior.

club infinity…yikes, that place was a dump. also, i’m pretty sure one king down is a chess reference

VISTA: Where did the name, ONE KING DOWN come from?

Michael: Derrick thought of the name. It has no real meaning, it just sounded cool to us. We had to change our nae from DROWN to ONE KING DOWN, after Electra {record label} put out an album by an industrial band, named DROWN.

@ Jeff Novak … Club Infinity? A dump? Compared to the Metropolitan Opera House maybe. I don’t know what kind of palaces you hang out in, but wasn’t Infinity nicely air conditioned, with a serious fucking sound system and a great sized stage for diving? And I’m pretty sure it had it’s own parking lot.

I could be thinking of the wrong place, but I’m pretty sure its the place I saw the Revelation Records summer tour in 1998 and a late 90’s Madball show, amongst others.

OKD, they weren’t that good, but kids definitely liked to kick the shit out of each other during this band. Always a pleasure to watch.

Maybe he’s confusing it with Fat Cats?

    What about this gig? Wild.

April 16th 1998 @Club Infinity Springfield Mass: The Year Of Our Lord, Barrit, Cavein, Pieblad, Bane, Shai Hulud, and Bloodlet

  8. Anthony Invade says:

I always thought it was inspired by Rob’s involvement with chess, but maybe that’s thinking too much into it.

  9. tom z says:

Fat Cats was a dump for sure. Infinity was a sweet spot. Saw madball and e-town concrete there in 98 as well as that bloodlet show

  10. tom z says:

Also, they were called One King Down before Rob was in the band, so it doesn’t have to do with chess, although I thought that at one point as well.

I have no beef with fat cats. Saw the best Hatebreed(performing under the name “a call for blood”) at fat cats. It was after they were big. It was on a new years day. They played under the knife 7″ and satisfaction is the death of desire in order. Sooooo fucking good. Ended in a huge riot against bouncers. Police, mentions of a gun being pulled, Dave Murphy was stagediving! What more could you ask for?
Would pay handsomely for a video

@ rickyjxxx to be fair, I think my memory places all Springfield clubs in the “dump” category. Though, I do remember the stage being great for dives there (such as that Earth Crisis, In My Eyes, Indecision, RTS show)
