Give Up The Ghost Zip Up

AN > GUTG

That’s what I’m saying.

It was always such a shitty deal that some lame bar band from Philly forced American Nightmare to change their name. Obviously one band was jealous of the others success. I mean, not too many bar bands have ever toured europe. And then the b33f over American Nothing was just ridiculous.

AN was also a succinct acronym and American Nightmare had a great ring to it. Give Up The Ghost didn’t have the same appeal. The same can be said for the GHST hood, in my opinion.

From what I understand, the bar band was actually going to let AN use the name for money or something until every hc kid in the world emailed them threats, insults and what not and they said fuck it you can’t have the name. Or so the story goes.

Great band – horrible hoodie. Actually, I never liked any hood they made, but they made some great shirts.

Never heard that story, Tom Z. I wonder if “American Nightmare” is still rocking that bar scene?

I had heard it from Garvey who is usually a reliable source.

I’m actually dying to find/buy that hoodie for my boyfriend. He used to have it, but somebody stole it. Is it by chance still in your possession? If not, do you know where I could try looking for one like it? Thanks, Kaye.
