Why was the mid 90s all about work shirts?
It’s not like hardcore fans during that time were all working class. As far as I recall, most were white suburban college kids. I mean, obviously, a lot of hardcore dudes didn’t fall into that category, but seriously, I don’t see a lot of blue collar dock workers rocking out to Ebullition style hardcore. Flagman, Four Walls Falling, Resurrection. I just don’t see it.
But a lot of bands seemed to create work shirts. I suppose for these two bands, it makes more sense. If ever there was a blue collar hardcore band, H2O was it. They kept it real on the streets of the LESC.
Bouncing Souls too. I can see it. I can picture a garage full of lifted cars while dudes are rocking out to the Bouncing Souls. I can see it.
these look more like dress shirts that someone screened. i’m thinking more the gas station style with the patch on the front!
